Maya and her team work with clients one-on-one in Brooklyn, New York, and offer nationwide virtual nutrition coaching to help clients find food-based nutrition solutions that support diabetes, cardiovascular conditions including high blood pressure and high cholesterol, autoimmune conditions, and neurological conditions.

Maya Feller, MS, RD, CDN

On a limited basis, Maya sees patients one on one.

Maya Feller, MS, RD, CDN is the founder and lead dietitian at Maya Feller Nutrition. Maya believes in providing nutrition education from an anti-bias, patient-centered, culturally sensitive approach to help people make informed food choices. Maya shares her approachable, food-based solutions with millions of people through regular speaking engagements, writing, her social platforms, and as a national nutrition expert on Good Morning America, is a Healthline Medical Advisor and on the advisory board for SHAPE and Parents, as well as appearing on Good Morning America, Pix 11, TODAY Show, Tamron Hall, and in The New York Times, mindbodygreen, Well+Good, Food Network, Martha Stewart, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, Cooking Light, Eating Well, Prevention, Glamour, SELF, and more. She is the author of  Eating from Our Roots: 80+ Healthy Home-Cooked Favorites from Cultures Around the World (goop Press, January 24, 2023).

Kendra-Batten

Kendra Batten, PhD, RD

Kendra comes to Maya Feller Nutrition as a second career after practicing psychology for a number of years. He primary interests are centered around disordered eating and helping people develop or re-establish positive relationships with food and their body. Kendra has PhD in Nutrition and has conducted research in a variety of areas including the impact of learning styles on academic performance to identifying cardiovascular disease risk factors in African American female caretakers with young children. She enjoys spin classes, yoga , Zumba reading Scifi and traveling. Her personal and professional interests are crucial to her ongoing development as a dietitian as they motivate her to continue learning and supporting the health and wellbeing of people of color and marginalized communities.

Lauren Decunto, MS, RD

Lauren is one of our nutrition coaches who speaks Spanish and English. She recently completed her Master’s in Nutrition Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and has a background in yoga, and mindfulness. Lauren is passionate about the connection between health, wellness, and nutrition. She advocates for sustainability, food justice, and food equity. Lauren is currently working toward her goal of becoming an eating disorders specialist and will dedicate her practice to bridge the gap between inequities in the food system and individuals’ health. 

Morgan Elmore

Morgan Elmore, MS, RD, LDN, CDN

Morgan has been a dietitian at Maya Feller Nutrition for nearly two years. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition from New York University, she moved on to complete her Master’s in Community Nutrition and Dietetic Internship at West Chester University. Her professional career then brought her to city hospitals and skilled nursing facilities throughout New York and Philadelphia. This experience has allowed her to develop a unique approach when it comes to counseling her private clients. At MFN, Morgan focuses her work on adolescents and adults who need support integrating realistic habits into their everyday lives in order to build long-lasting change. She wants to help her patients develop a balance when it comes to their patterns of eating and approach to nutrition, knowing that nutrition is unique to each individual and their lived experience.

Robin Nwankwo, MPH, RD, CDE

Robin has 30 years of experience working as a  community and research dietitian diabetes educator and has worked on NIH-funded and foundation-funded grants exploring peer leader, diabetes education and support. She has co-authored book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles to contribute to the nutrition, nursing, pharmacy, and diabetes education profession, emphasizing the empowerment approach to self-management of chronic disease management and outpatient eating disorders support.

Keisha Pierce, RDN

Keisha strongly believes in the body’s ability to heal with proper nutrition. She endorses a holistic, client-centered, food-first approach to nutrition education, and encourages the development of mind-body-environmental wellness. Outside the office, Keisha enjoys entertaining audiences across the tri-state area as a professional singer.
